I am Proud to be an American...

What a day..i should say what a weekend. Franco took Thursday off so we went up to Park City and took Robann and Andrew swimming, where let me just add Andrew kicks and moves his arms to swim!!! My parents surprised us all by actually coming back in town for the 4th, which we were so happy about. Holidays just aren't the same without the folks. So, on fourth of July morning Franco made us too much food. He made eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, then i bought choc. donuts, normal donuts and I made cinnamon rolls. We were going to go with our friends to the local 4th breakfast but we enjoyed a little family breakfast instead. After breakfast Robann decided she wanted to be in the "Magna-tude" Parade with some friends of ours so she was off to get ready for that and Franco and I went to Home Depot to get some bricks to line our little flower garden/bush area/tree place for the front of our yard. We worked extremely hard for a few hours on that and now we are weedless, bush less (well we cut down two of them, and still have two) and ready to plant pretty flowers!! We have been talking about doing something to our front yard forever so thanks to a few Home Depot Gift cards we finished that project..go us!! I showered, Robann got home, Andrew woke up and we packed an overnight bag and headed up to dads condo at the Park City Mountain Resort. Let me just tell you..the view we had of the fireworks had to be the best in the whole city!! The kids went swimming, dad & Franco shopped for all of our goodies, treats, pies, meats, drinks, chips, shrimp, salads, etc that we all consumed that evening. The babies went to bed and we were all ready and waiting for the fist shot in the air of those beautiful bright lights!!!! The firework show was first class, go Park City!!! Kristy, AJ, Gavin, the Brent Johnson Family, Jay and Rachel & family, mom and dad, me, Franco, Andrew and Robann were all there. Thanks dad for a fabulous time at the condo. We were supposed to spend the night there with Kristy and AJ but after Andrew woke up during the fireworks he was impossible to put back to bed in a port a crib..so we got home about 1 am!

Now to today! Oh my heck. So..my mom and dad gave us Cindy's old dresser and mirror to sell, but I decided i wanted to keep it for Andrews room. Andrew's crib and changing table are both white and the dresser is dark oak wood. I decided to start transitioning his room now to his "big boy" room so I decided to paint the dresser a deep red. Right now he has denim blue curtains and light cream walls and red and blue canvas paintings in his room, so it will go fine. ANYWAY..i started the task of sanding this whole darn dresser. Holy freak. I think it was Kristy who told me sanding was so easy...well......several hours later and millions of sore muscles and the dresser now has the first coat of paint! Phew...i will take a pic of the final product when i am done, which may not be until next Saturday. It was great because Franco had Andrew all day and so I just had to focus on my project, thanks Babe!! I am the kind of person that wants it done right now..i am not very patient.

My nephew Chase came to stay with us tonight for a few nights so we dropped him and Robann off to see Wall-E while I finished my primary lesson AND i have to do sharing time tomorrow..soo..I guess i will finish this blog post and continue my projects. Happy 4th!

Fun! Fireworks here stunk. The weather was yuck and it was HOT!!! It is bad when you resort to watching fireworks on t.v. I love 4ths with the family.

Good for you for getting those projects done. We tried to be ambitious too. We stained our garage door and did yard work. It is nice to have husbands home to help out so "to-do's" can get done.
