Women's Retreat & An Apostle

Last weekend was our wards Relief Society Overnight Retreat in the mountains, so beautiful. Franco was such a trooper and offered to keep both kids!!! It was such a blast, and not having any kids I let loose. It was great to play games, laugh hard, and stay up all night with the sisters of the church. Spiritually it was uplifting as well. Friday night John Canaan came up and spoke to us. If his name doesn't ring a bell his voice would if you heard it. He is the guy that sings on the Together Forever video and he sings Michael McLean's song, "You're Not Alone". He spoke then led into a song, then talked again, it was amazing. Saturday we had 4 great workshops: How to get the most out of studying the scriptures, How music can inspire and bring peace into your life, Communication, and our last workshop was Believing in Jesus Christ and knowing that He believes in us.

When I got home Saturday afternoon the kids were happy, healthy, fed and dressed. Franco informed me that Addyson was an angel and slept all night of course and never fussed or cried. What an amazing husband. He is such a great dad and is always willing to do whatever so I have my time alone, with friends, or whatever. Thank you sweetheart!

The weekend was also our Stake Conference Weekend. Saturday Franco and I went to the Adult Session to listen to Elder Ballard. How blessed were we. It has been 26 years since an Apostle had visited our Stake. he spoke about the importance of family, how to be aware of what you are bringing into your home via movies, TV, the Internet, music, etc. He said our home is supposed to be a safe haven, a shelter from the world where our children can feel safe and protected. It was amazing. Sunday morning session was just as amazing. What a great weekend. I do feel so uplifted and grateful for my role as mother, and Daughter of God. I am grateful for the Gospel and how I have been taught who I am and what my purpose is here on Earth!! Happy Days!!!
